Niccol's grey, disparate city-scapes of the future provide a fitting backdrop to the story. Thankfully they always have some time up their sleeve.

There are a couple of car chases, and a few panicky moments where our hero and heroine are only seconds away from death. The movie runs at a pretty good pace, ensuring you are entertained from start to finish. An exchange between Timberlake and his superhot mum is pretty awkward to watch in the first early scenes, but after a while you get used to the youthful ensemble. The fact that no one ages past 25 also takes a bit of getting used to.

The movie trades on the classic rich girl, poor boy story and while both the characters are convincingly played, their on screen chemistry is lacking. She says: This movie appears to be a thinly veiled commentary on the capitalist society we live in -the luxurious life of a fortunate few and the misery and toil of the minions who work for them. Verdict - Go see this film if you're into a fast paced film that tries to address some of society's issues. While In Time doesn't fail to entertain, it lacks direction and its plot is somewhat nonsensical and confusing. It also attempts to conjure up the age old ethical question of whether or not the death of some is justified if it is for the greater good. Niccol, who wrote and directed the film, draws on tired themes to tell a story of rich versus poor and a system based on capitalism gone wrong. Portrayed as a modern day Bonnie and Clyde it seemed like I had seen this all before. His co-star Amanda Seyfried who, like Timberlake, this genre was a first for, passed the mark but her on screen chemistry with Timberlake didn't seem to be there. While his acting wasn't bad, at times his performance was a bit over the top. The film deals with the gap between rich and poor, with a small percent of the population controlling most of the time.ДЄ lead role in a sci-fi action film is new territory for Justin Timberlake and I was interested to see how he took on the part. In Time seems to parallel with the 'Occupy Movement' prevalent in the news at the moment. The likes of the Truman Show, Lord of War and sci-fi classic Gattaca were great films so I had high hopes for his latest outing in the genre of science fiction. He says: The Director of In Time, Andrew Niccol, has been responsible for some pretty good cinema. Together they wreak havoc, corrupting a system designed to keep the poor in their place. Along his way he meets Sylvia Weis, played by Amanda Seyfried, the daughter of a wealthy time lender. Desperate to turn the system on its head, he starts a crusade to change society. At first he is keen to take his mother and leave the dirty streets behind, until an inevitable tragedy sees him change his focus. Justin Timberlake plays outspoken ghetto dweller Will Salas who finds himself the lucky benefactor of a century. There are even time missions where the poor go to scrape together whatever time they can. In between the rich and poor we have the usual suspects within a society, a police force known as 'time keepers', criminal 'minute men' and time lenders. They are living 'one day at a time' and everyone is in a hurry. Those in Dayton, the slum timezone, are the opposite. They eat slow, drive slow, and they never run. The rich, living in New Greenwich, live at a slow pace, which shows how little they care about their time. In this world, time is money- you work for more time, you bargain with time and you pay with time.

With a full year disconcertingly displayed on your forearm, the only thing that can save you is more time. Whilst you keep your looks forever, the downside is you've officially 'clocked on' and the countdown to your death begins. In Time takes us to the 'not so distant' future where humans have been genetically engineered to stop ageing at 25. This edition we look at Justin Timberlake's star turn in the film'In time'.
